Society Objectives

The Objectives of the Society are:

A. The cultivation and the promotion of scientific aspects of ORLHNS and related sciences by all or any of the following:

1. The collection and dissemination by, or amongst, members of scientific knowledge and the publication of articles relating to meetings.

2. The promotion of research with or without grants or sums of money out of the funds of the society, or out of funds donated for that purpose.

3. The establishment and maintenance of libraries of information relating to ORLHNS and of museums of normal and pathological anatomy.

4. The establishment of prizes for the encouragement of scientific work out of the funds of the society or out of funds donated for that purpose.

5. The periodical meeting of members.

6. The encouragement of visits by specialists from abroad for the purpose of giving lectures and demonstrations.

7. To assist the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Surgical board of Otolaryngology in New Zealand in organising, funding and the post-graduate teaching of registered trainees for the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Otolaryngology.

B. To confer, cooperate and affiliate with other bodies having similar objectives.

C. To provide an authoritative body of opinion on the medical and surgical management of diseases of the ears, nose, throat, hearing, speech, head and neck, and to promote them in relation to the health of the community.

D. To advise professional colleagues and disseminate information to members of the public on the scope of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and advances in the speciality.
